#AndreaBordeaux, who plays the role of Ella McFair on #Starzshow #RunTheWorld, will not be back to reprise her role over the studios #COVID vaccine mandate.
“I did not opt to leave the series and Lionsgate made no efforts to find a workable solution.”
Andrea proceeded to explain, “My heart is with all of the people around the world who feel that they are losing so much due to their choice to stand in their convictions and to honor their deepest core beliefs.”
Starz renewed Run the World for a second season in August, while appointing Rachelle Williams (Love Life, mixed-ish, Survivor’s Remorse) as its new showrunner. The series follows “a group of smart, funny, and vibrant thirty-something Black women” — played in Season 1 by Bordeaux, Amber Stevens West, Bresha Webb and Corbin Reid. “At its core, it’s an authentic and unapologetic show about enviable friendship and not only surviving but thriving together.
With the news of her untimely departure, fans of the series are now wondering how the network will handle Bordeaux’s absence as she was the central character of the show.
